Fixed Deposits
India’s Favourite Savings Tradition, Reinvented.

What is Fixed Deposit?
A Corporate Fixed Deposit is a safe and convenient way to earn guaranteed returns on a lump-sum investment. It is offered by Corporates for a fixed period, ranging from a few months to several years, at a fixed rate of interest. (Interest rates may vary depending on the company and the investment period)
How do Fixed Deposits Work?
When you invest in a Fixed Deposit (FD), you place a lump sum with the institution for a chosen period, called the tenure. During this time, your investment earns interest, which can be received at regular intervals or on maturity. At the end of the tenure, you get back your original amount along with the total interest earned.

Benefits of Fixed Deposit
- Assured Returns: Enjoy guaranteed returns fixed at the time of investment—unaffected by market or interest rate changes.
- Faster Growth with Compound Interest: Earn interest on your interest, helping your savings grow steadily over time.
- Higher Rates for Senior Citizens: Senior citizens can benefit from higher interest rates, ensuring a more comfortable and worry-free retirement.
- Flexible Tenure Options: Choose from various maturity periods to match your financial goals and liquidity needs.
- Auto-Renewal Convenience: Automatically renew your FD at maturity without any extra paperwork, ensuring uninterrupted growth.
Different Types of Fixed Deposits Offered
- Cumulative FD: Interest is compounded periodically (usually quarterly) and paid along with the principal at maturity. This helps your investment grow faster due to the power of compounding.
- Non-Cumulative FD: Offers regular interest payouts—monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annually. Ideal for retirees or those seeking a steady income stream.
- Senior Citizen FD: Designed for investors over 60, these FDs provide slightly higher interest rates (typically up to 0.50% more than regular FDs) to help seniors grow their savings.
- Recurring Deposits: Allows you to invest a fixed amount every month, similar to a mutual fund SIP. At maturity, you receive the total investment along with interest. Perfect for regular savers seeking guaranteed returns without market risk.
Taxation
- Interest earned on Fixed Deposits is taxable as per the slab rates.
- TDS at 10% is deducted if total interest earned from a company exceeds ₹ 5,000 in a financial year (20% if PAN is not provided).
